I really didn't like the content of "paranormal state" but I liked the way it was put together and the way it was narrated.

I used to watch "most huanted" every friday, but it really got OLD. I can't remeber an episode where Derek hasn't been "taking over" by a spirit. I do like david wells though he seems more believable.

"ghost hunters" is my favorite show to watch by far.

Ghost Hunters is #1. They may have more cash to drop but they are on the up and up. Most Haunted is a joke. You can't tell me that Derek has a spirit enter his body at every place they go, also what is up with all the screaming and crying? They need to get a life.

RE: So what paranormal shows do you like/hate?
I really enjoy Ghost hunters. Some of the drama between members could be avoided.  I want to see the investigation.
Paranormal State was a bit disappointing.  It is a 30 min. show. They did one after the other...but the deal is that they spent most of the time showing the investigation of the people they are helping and little time showing investigation of the place. The other thing I didn't like is that both episodes and the new ones coming up next Monday deal with demons. Not a subject I would like to dwell on.  They talk about "dead Time" 3:00a.m. being the best time for spirit activity, have you found that to be true in your investigations?
I agree that Most Haunted is a joke and boring.  Derek has his own show now which also is a joke.

I personally don't believe in "Dead Time". I believe that people believe more stuff happens at these times, but the power of suggestion makes them listen more carefully during these times. People say that it is more active and I have not seen the changes since I have been in TSI. I have seen activity early in the night and late at night. It seems like the most extreme cases that I have seen happen early in the night.

RE: So what paranormal shows do you like/hate?
I don't believe in "dead time" but it seems to be that we capture more "evidence" around 3:00am. If you look at the prison evidence, notice that all of those pictures are within 20 minutes of 3:00am either before or after.

I don't believe it has anyting to do with demons, the trinity or the witching hour. I think that there may be more to it than just a time, but what I don't know.

From my experiances during our investigations the activity usually seems to pick up the closer it gets to this time. Now I agree with David about the power of mind. It's huge! The human brain is so somplex and has such a good sense of imagination. You can pretty much see whatever you want to see when this is in play. However you can't alway dismiss 3:00am as this when we have pictures to prove that the activty does pick up around this time.

A suggestion to new investigators:
If you are investigating a place and you think you hear  or see something and you have other investigators with you, you should say something like this "hey david did you just hear that? What was that?" rather than "hey david did you hear that cell door closeing?" that way you don't bring power of suggestion into play. If you make the person with you tell you what they had heard before you saying anything you can corrilate that what with you heard and there will be no suggestions involed.

Also I recomend that you investigate a location without knowing the "manifestations" that are abserved. That way your mind does't run wild and cause you to see things that really aren't paranormal.

I hope this helps

So would you, or not, talk with the owners of a property about what paranormal activity they have encountered before investigating the place?

RE: So what paranormal shows do you like/hate?
This depends on what you are relating this to. If you are the interviewer, you have to ask where and what kind of activity the homeowner is experiencing. I would only use this info to tell my team where to place cameras and make no mention of it to the rest of the team. You do this so as to not influence your team in trying to make something out that may not be there. Just rely on pure evidence, if your evidence is not clear, if you think you see something in a picture, it is probably nothing. Some of the worst "evidence" pics are those that people swear that they see something and you have to have a vivid imagination to see the figures.[/align]

Janice,

I would ask the property owner about the activity that they are experiancing for reasons that David stated...this is valuable information when setting up equipment. Depending the size and experiance of your group, usually the founders/tech manager do the walk through with the owner and the pre-investigation interview.

This just cuts down on power of suggestion influencing the investigators results.

RE: So what paranormal shows do you like/hate?
I like ghost hunters on scifi channel, and I don't like Paranormal state on A&E to much like the 90's show Psi factor. I also like A Haunting on discovery. Ghost Hunters flip flops on what they call evidence and what they don't. If you say a picture is a reflection then duplicate that photo as it appears. One day soon we will have our own show on T.V.
