Web site down
So I'm sure everyone noticed that the web site was down for a day or so. It looks like there is either a network problem between this server and my database server. I'm unable to get a straight answer from anyone. The bottom line is that both servers are/were up and functioning but they couldn't talk to each other all of a sudden.
My hunch is that they were blocking traffic from this server to the database server. Why? Who knows. It could be a networking issue that would have resolved itself eventually too. I put the database back on this server.. and we'll be experiencing the slowness as before in the forum, until we find an alternative solution.
