Night Vision Goggles
OK....This is really funny but stay with me. I was in Wal-Mart and they have a night vision system designed for kids. It uses what looks to be a CMOS video camera with IR sensitivity and two IR illuminators. They are charging $69 for the system, compare that to a Gen I night vision system at over $500 and it seems like a great deal. You can check it out at http://www.eyeclops.com
This may be a great tool for those wanting night vision for cheap.

Thanks Smokey. I like ideas in my price range and this looks like a good one. With Christmas coming up I can tell Santa this is what I want :) Thanks again.

RE: Night Vision Goggles
Not a problem. It looked like a good substitute for those $1000 goggles. LOL

I just saw the commercial for those. Pretty cool! We got our son the Bionic Eye last year.

RE: Night Vision Goggles
OK, So I went ahead and picked this up. Got home and got it out of the box. I was a little disappointed that the LCD screen was so small and is only for the right eye but hey its $70. It took a little time to fit it to my head but it fits. It has the option for green or black and white viewing..I prefer B&W. You can choose to use the high power illuminator or the low power illuminator. The low power makes you invisible in a room because the led's are not visible by the naked eye. Using it in my apartment I could see everything with the lights out. I could visibly read my flag in my bedroom from my living room 35 feet away in total darkness with the high power illuminator. The only thing that would make this any better for the price is a second LCD screen. Oh, and a handheld high power illuminator...that way you would be able to see objects further away. As it is...50 feet is max for viewing, 40 if you want to actually see in detail. Overall, this is a great piece of equipment for the price. I just hope you are not claustrophobic.

RE: Night Vision Goggles
No, Imagine a cheap plastic/rubber head gear with the orb style IR security camera attached to your forehead and a smaller illuminator on the right eye.
