Moultrie I40 Camera
So, I saw the boys at Ghost Adventures use this camera, and I was very interested in checking it out.
It was a Mountrie I-40 or I-60, not sure about what megapixel they had. Here is a link to the I-40 http://www.moultriefeeders.com/productde...-i40-combo This camera has some cool features that I can see would be useful for ghost investigations - logs time/date with each photo - logs temperature with each photo - logs lunar phase with each photo (might interesting to know) - uses infrared night shot - has a large infrared flash (50ft) - motion sensor - can take series of shots (3 consecutive shots).. or series of videos - mountable or used as hand held Anyway, I picked one up on eBay. Might be a useful addition to a investigation. I'll report back once it arrives and after I do some testing. hanji Blog: MTGhostHunter.com Twitter: @mtghosthunter Game Cameras |

RE: Moultrie I40 Camera
I am excited for you and can't wait to hear how you like it. I am technically challenged and missed them talking about that particular camera. I thought the experiment they did with the camera connected to a tv interesting. Was this camera used with that test?

The one where they were at a old house.. that is no a Masonic temple I think?? They didn't really talk about the camera too much. I just recognized that it was a game/trail camera when I saw it. They took a series of shots at the various walls of the room. So they were taking sequences of 3 shots. On one sequence the second shot of three, showed a mist and coincidentally, the image also recorded a lower temperature between shots 1 and 3. I think it's great to record other data simultaneously.. temperature and date/time. hanji Blog: MTGhostHunter.com Twitter: @mtghosthunter Game Cameras |

RE: Moultrie I40 Camera
Whoa! I was shocked to see it in the mail today. Talk about fast shipping!!!
So, I've been playing with it in my basement today. It's quite cool. The only draw back that I'm seeing is the multi-shot only takes images every 13 seconds, which seems like a long time while you're waiting there. The other draw back.. which is to be expected, since it's a low-light IR camera, you have to be very very still or you get blur. Blur = bad for evidence. I might look at getting a very quick set up tripod for it. Something that just snaps into place quickly. Not sure what. I haven't messed with the video settings yet.. maybe tonight. So far, I'm pretty impressed. Takes standard SD card, has TV and USB out for viewing. Pretty slick. Overall the Moultrie Game Camera is pretty sick! I attached a photo of my basement showing the 'info' bar. hanji Blog: MTGhostHunter.com Twitter: @mtghosthunter Game Cameras |

RE: Moultrie I40 Camera
They make very small "grip" tripods, that are probably less than a foot tall, but have essentially flexible fingers you use to wrap around something. The downfall to that of course is, you need something to wrap it on, and if you don't have it, you're camera is only 12" off the ground, so you'll get lots of nice ankle shots!
