If so then are you just looking for when you ask a question for the word to come up during the scan...to be something that will be an answer? Went on an investigation last night here in Dillon at an anonymous site. Didn't get a chance to try it since she needed us to leave earlier than i had hoped. She wants us back so am going to try it then. Had lots of personal experiences and orbs....... still checking the evidence. Heard some female voices....disembodied voice but not sure if caught on recorder. Will have to let you know what we found.

Yes, you should hear the channels scanning. I would recommend AM over FM bands for this. There are two things that are theorized with this technique.

#1 You actually hear a voice answering a question. I like the voice that is back in the static and is consistent across multiple frequencies.

#2 You hear EVPs recorded when you listen to the session on a recorder. A person asks a question and does NOT hear a response in the room, but there is a response on the audio recorder later.

I'm still on the fence, since this could be matrixing. One person told me to ask many 'control questions'. Like what color is my shirt throughout out the session, if you get a consistent answer it could help provide some confidence.

I would say they're different. It's like saying EVP is a ouija board too (ask a question and get a answer). Maybe, I'm wrong.. and they're all the same. I might do some digging and see if I can find some definitions/theories between them.

Do you think the ghost box is a good legit tool to use in an investigation?

That's a tough one. I think it's 99.9% matrixing, but I wanted to hear potential EVPs within (not heard during the session). I did hear some weird/interesting things in the session the other night though.

I know I've talked personally with a few paranormal investigators that really believe in this.. and swear by it. Stating the 'control questions' are the key to establishing some kind of consistency. The bottom line.. I haven't messed with it enough to really be convinced either way.
