Frank's Box or Ghost Box
Frank's Box or Ghost Box.. so what are your opinions on this tool for EVP work? I've seen some interesting things regarding this tool/technique, but I personally have a hard time with it. I think it could be matrixing or just coincidence on call/response occurences?

RE: Frank's Box or Ghost Box
Okay.. I did some more research and found a cheap way to mod something to act very similar. Shack-hack as they call it.

I picked up a Digital AM/FM Pocket Radio (#12-469) from Radio Shack and made the appropriate mod so it'll scan through AM or FM bands without stopping. The radio was $20.

I'll see if I can pick up some cheapo speakers for it. The mod was a success, maybe we can add this to our investigation options. I'm not buying the results.. but it's worth a try.

I'll post a how-to on how I mod'd it shortly.

Thanks!
hanji

P.S. Is anyone out there?

I would like to see how one works. Neat that you could build one so cheaply.
Have you ever found any speakers at a good will that are worth using? That way you aren't out too much money to see how well it works.

RE: Frank's Box or Ghost Box
yep.. that's my plan. Good Will might be the ticket. Looking for small 'powered' speakers for a computer or something.

RE: Frank's Box or Ghost Box
Franks Box or Ghost Box uses the technique known as ITC or Instrumental TransCommunication, where you use electronic devices to see if it's possible to find paranormal results. A early example is video taping static on a TV (ie: White Noise movie).

With the Franks Box, you can use a radio device that scans multiple channels in the AM or FM band. You'll basically hear words or phrases as it scans through the channels. Apparently, during EVP sessions, this words or phrases can be answers or messages related to the question.

I have a real hard time believing this, but I would like to do some tests and see this for myself. The Shack Hack that I did has one big problem. It scans the channels incrementally going from low to high and then back again. I believe the true Franks box randomly selects channels. I'll do some research on how to build a real Franks Box, I don't think it should be too terribly hard, but who knows.

RE: Frank's Box or Ghost Box
If you get some words how can you know that it of paranomal or not some random radio waves that you can pick up at night from across the country. I have picked up radio channels from as far away as Mississippi at night coming back home at night from a ghost tour in deer lodge. it was faint and only a few words but they did say the location in the broadcast. I think it might have some merit if we can prove it is not radio waves that is being piicked up, does anyone know how to do this.

RE: Frank's Box or Ghost Box
The concept IS to use the random radio signals. Words from various channels are being used in the communication. I have a super hard time believing this. I'll try to find some videos.

This was the tool used! Seems it works pretty well. I believe the Zakos house was a great place to experiment with it!
