Geophone
So, been seeing the geophone on TAPS lately, so got me looking. I was able to find a simple geophone kit and I have it assembled. I'll be picking up a micro-toggle tomorrow, and it should be all good to go.
Basically, a geophone detects vibration and displays the intensity of the vibration in the form of LED lights. More lights.. shows the intensity of vibration or movement. Interesting test would include isually recording 'knocking' on tables or foot steps etc. It's pretty damn sensitive. I was pretty impressed with the sensitivity of the unit. There is a trim pot to adjust sensitivity on the board. Once I have it done, I'll post some photos. If all goes well, I'll have it finished tomorrow some time. hanji Blog: MTGhostHunter.com Twitter: @mtghosthunter Game Cameras |

RE: Geophone
Geophone is done. I'll try to get pics tomorrow. It works like a charm. I think it might be interesting to use in a investigation.

RE: Geophone
Hank how hard would it be to build a IR light source that covered an arc of 180' for the night vision cameras that can be mounted to the top of the cameras or under them. That would light up the whole room

RE: Geophone
Wow.. 180 degrees? or 180 feet? I built the one illuminator that covers 50 degrees.. not sure about the distance.
Not sure if you saw this earlier: http://www.mtghosthunter.com/2009/05/23/...luminator/ hanji Blog: MTGhostHunter.com Twitter: @mtghosthunter Game Cameras |

RE: Geophone
enough to cover the sides of the camera, not just the round circle we see on the video tapes 120 arc would be good also distance at least 15 feet I guess

RE: Geophone
The only thing I think of is to create a few of these.. then side fill. I also made IR flashlights, that is cheap and easy and we could get various light traps to flood a room.

RE: Geophone
Ok.. I finally have something for you to see. This is the GeoPhone I created. I didn't think a photo would show it to well, so I made a quick video and posted it to YouTube.
