Technical Questions
You can ask any questions that you have about a technical problem or any question that you have regarding equipment and I will try to answer them.

RE: Technical Questions
Thinking about the infrared thermometer.
Is there an option that lets you take the temperature at the end of the thermometer? Because I was just thinking about this, and we keep taking the temperature of the walls, ceilings, and floors, but never really get the ambient air temperature with it. Unless I'm completely misunderstanding the way it works. The dude with the beard. |

RE: Technical Questions
I have bought a thermometer to register ambient air temperature.

RE: Technical Questions
Air temp is fine but we need to know and track a cold spot next to investigators nt just if the room gets cold. We nned to be able to pin point a cold spot within inches and if it is moing or not.

RE: Technical Questions
The problem is that there is no way to take a temp. reading of the air where you feel the cold spot. The thermometers that we have only read contact temps. The distance that these work are very limited too, if too far from the source you have a really large margin of error. The ambient air temp. is the closest thing that you can get to locating floating cold spots.

RE: Technical Questions
I disagree, I was looking at some that measure 12-16 inches away and they just might work. there has to be away to measure and track a floating cold spot. They seem to be able to do it on Ghost Hunters, what do they use?

RE: Technical Questions
They have thermal imagers and there is a new dual temp. sensor that takes ambient air with contact temp at the same time. I believe that it runs about $90.

RE: Technical Questions
Type K probes work best for this type of app. They can be used for internal, surface, and ambient temp readings.

RE: Technical Questions
See I thought there was a way to read a moving cold spot, I think we should pick up this technology and put it to good usse.

RE: Technical Questions
Aren't type K probes for surface temp? I thought that they only took in to account the ambient temp. when taking a surface reading. Plus they are fairly expensive aren't they?
