has anyone kept a paranormal log/journal?
Just curious if anyone has done this at all.

I think carrying small notepads around and making sure everyone has some way to tell the time would be a good think to take on investigations. That way when you think you've seen something, or heard something, you can chronicle it at the time, in a way that's easy to go through again for reference.

That way if a question arises, we could easily find more specific information.

"I heard a door close at 1:03am in the upstairs bathroom of the Daly Mansion. Kris was with me, and also heard it."

vs.

"We heard a door close upstairs sometime, I think you guys were downstairs. It was a little while after we were all together in the bedroom, but not a long time after."

Just my thoughts.

We are supposed to keep a log, it seems easier to do with a digital recorder.

RE: has anyone kept a paranormal log/journal?
I was thinking that too. We do have a pre/post investigation log but nothen really during the investigation. Maybe we should take a little pad of paper and jot down anything that we encounter so we can referance back like kyle was saying.

A digital recorder would be easier, but we would have to make sure we don't confuse them with the recorders we are using to do EVP work.

Does anydody have anything to add?

Kris

You can use the recorder that you are using for EVP. You would just announce what you hear or see to the recorder, this would help the reviewer if they hear anything at the spot just before that.

The problem I have with using solely a VR, is that you still have to guesstimate where on the recording your experiences are and such. Where as a simple notation, could help speed things up, even in assisting with the VR, you have a better idea of when things happened.

That is only if you have a DVR that records the current time. We used the tape recorder and it does not have a counter so you would still have to guess.

call out the time you start and the time when you stop, it will go along way to verifing anything on tape.

RE: has anyone kept a paranormal log/journal?
I bought a litle take along notebook for my investigations yesterday and today. Didn't do evps last noc because outside and all the noises.  Bought a journal to record where we went, what found and contact names and phone numbers for future reference. The little note book came in handy last noc because we had technical problems in one certain area, wrote it down. Later when looking at the dig photos found what looks like ectoplasmic mist in that area.  Thanks for your suggestions everyone....
