Fort Peck Summer Theater
Hello.
I grew up in Glasgow MT. Did some work for the Fort Peck Summer Theater. I hoped my music teacher with the play sets for the shows, and also a stage hand/carpenter. Was built during the 1930's for entertainment purposes for the workers and families that built the Fort Peck Dam. Many big name people in the Hollywood came up to put on shows/plays. To this day, plays are put on but locals, and professional actors/actresses. Back in the 50's, there was a man named of Fred. He was the janitor/electrician. He was 100'+ one day changing lights and fell to his death onto the chairs where the audience sits. Fred's spirit is still there. An old teacher of mine fell backwards on some steps, and something caught him and brought him back to his feet. There have been multiple sightings of a "blue light" seen from the windows, front area, and stage. My experience is quite radical. I was finishing up one night setting up the stage, when I looked out in the seating area. All of a sudden, the house lights came on. There is only one place to turn them on, and that is the main controls in the upper stage right of the seating area. The front was locked, so I was thinking someone stuck in the back. I yelled up there, but no answer and no person. Then the lights went out, and saw the "blue light" shoot across to stage left and disappear. To say the least, I got the hell out of there. Fred is friendly, and a man who gave his life to that theater. May he continue to serve it, and the people who go there every year to keep the name of it alive. |

RE: Fort Peck Summer Theater
Hi koubanator-
Thanks for your story! Looks like a great place and sounds very interesting as a possible future investigation site. Who is in charge of the theater and is there a number for me to reach this individual? Let me know, thank you! Sally |
