What is your take on demons? do they exist?

What do you think about demons? Are they real or just something created by organized religion help control the behavior of the followers?

I tend to believe they may exist. But, I have been indoctrinated since childhood to feel this way. That is one reason I have chosen to never use a ouiji board. I was told by religious teachers that it was controlled by the spirits who follow the devil. Not sure if that's true. Not sure it isn't. Just not going to take a chance. Besides..... when watching the Most Haunted crew do thier thing with the board or upside down glass whose to prove one of them isn't moving it rather than a ghost. I do believe there are evil entities/spirits though. When they are around you can feel it. I do feel that if I came across a demon in an investigation I would be way out of my league trying to get rid of it. I'd pass that on to ones who know what they are doing. I was kind of surprized when the Paranormal State guys were blessing the house and using Holy Water and then leaving some with the 8 yr old boy. I thought only Priests or Pastors could do that.

I agree with you on Ouiji boards. The problem with these things is that it requires people to be touching the object and as you know it is hard to keep your hands still holding them just above the board. This causes the pointers to move because every is required to keep their hands on the pointer at all times. If it were truely paranormal it would move without anyone having to touch the board.

I believe in demons to an extent, because of my religious beliefs. However, they also tell me that basically, they are insignificant, and unimportant. They can't do anything to us, unless we are weak willed and minded and allow them to.

My religious beliefs center around the Buddhadharma, or Buddhism.

I don't have an answer for that. What really is the definition of a demon? It is most likely based on personal beliefs.

to many times I watch a paranormal show or read a story and they pull the demonic card way to soon. And why is it that only the christian faith beleives in demons, jewish people don't and i think muslums dont as well. I am not sure about other religeons of the far east.
I myself do think there is something evil with a real attempt of doing harm to people. Just as there has to be Angels that are good, to many checks and balances in the universe for there not to be.

Good question Kris! Personally I feel that if there is a "Good" out there, by that i mean Jesus, God, and angels, then there has to be "Bad".

Kris,
I have a question and didn't really know where it fit. Thought this is as good as any. Has TSI ever been called in to do an investigation for a family and found troublesome spirits that need to move on? How did you handle it or how would you handle it if the time came?

Well there was a time that we were contacted by a lady who claimed to have had a malevolent spirit who would terrorize her 12 year old daughter...lock her in her room, shake her bed, touch her. The family dog wouldn't even go into her room at night. However we never actually went into the house to investigate. We talked with her and she never got back to us.

I honestly don't know what we would do. We have never actually had to deal with something like that. I realy want to learn as much about cleansing a place as I can. I guess to answer your question, we would document as much as we could and if the evidence showed there to be an intelligent haunting there we would move forward to try to communicate with it. We would do our best to bless the house and get the spirit to move on.

If we find that it was a "demon" or evil presence we would pull the team out and contact a group who knows more until we can lean how to deal with such a spirit.
