I have several and don't know what I have already told you Erik. One that happened around this time of year (which I read somewhere was supposed to be an active spirit time- Christmas time). We had just decorated the house inside and out and all had gone to bed but me. I was sitting at dining room table reading a book and soaking in the atmosphere. I felt someone stoke the top of my head making my hair stand on end and burn. Totally freaked me out.
Embrace life and all it's mysteries. Strive to be positive. |

RE: ghost Stories (Non-Fiction)
Here is my non fiction ghost story, it isn't scary but it is a nice story.
Sullivan 10/9/2K5 By: Erik Bratlien Hello my name is Erik Bratlien (Brat-Lynn) I live in Missoula, Montana. I have founded a Paranormal Investigation Group entitled TSI (Tortured Souls Investigations) We try to find reasonable explanations For any activity we may encounter. My wife and I had to put down our beloved two year old Golden Retriever due to an incurable ailment. My wife and Sullivan were very close, so much so I almost believe they were of a kindred spirit. When my wife was feeling bad Sullivan was right there to comfort her. I know dogs will try to comfort you if they see you crying. But my wife wouldn’t be crying, she would be very closed up and quiet, and Sullivan could sense her when she was feeling sad. He would not leave her side for any reason not even to eat or drink. It was as if he was there to protect her and to watch over her. They went everywhere together, long walks, long drives in the car. You see my wife suffers from depression and Sullivan had been a godsend for her. She bought Sullivan for me for father’s day in 2003. It quickly became evident who Sullivan wanted to be with most. He loved everyone in the family without complaint, but he had an otherworldly connection with my wife. When my wife would have a severe valley of depression, he would stay by her side, and nudge her with his nose, she would give him a little smile and he would lie back down. He started to develop seizures. We took him to the vet and they run tests to determine why and how to best deal with the seizures. It was determine he had epilepsy, but I didn’t think so. We had to give him medicine everyday to control the seizures; he would have one every 30 days almost like clockwork. He began to have trouble keeping food down so we took him to a specialist and with out checking the dog out he said, “I bet he has a thyroid problem.” They did a blood test and yes he did, but a year ago I asked the vet if he had a thyroid problem, and the vet said the dog was to young to have a problem like that. He was only 10 month at that time so we went with the diagnosis of epilepsy. When we took the dog to the specialist he said the dog was suffering from mega-esophagus it is where all the nerve in the throat go dead and the dog can’t keep anything down. Well being a Golden Retriever he was too big to force-feed every few hours. My wife tried to do this and kept trying to convince herself he was getting better and that I was wrong and that he didn’t need to be put down. I could look into his eyes and tell he wanted it to end, but even when he was hurting so badly. He was there trying to comfort my wife with her decision to put him down. She was finely able to see he was suffering and that he wanted it to end. So we put him down on May 5th of 2005. When we got home I walked into the bathroom to get my wife some toilet paper to blow her nose and I found the dish we use for the cat’s food we kept on the bathroom counter laying on the ground, it was on the counter and I had filled it up before we left to go and put him down. The cats never have knocked the dish on the floor, as he would do it all the time, even now that he is gone the cats have not once knocked it off the counter. Later that night we were watching TV. And my wife and I heard the noise of dog tags clinking, and there wasn’t a dog in the house and the windows were all closed. That night we went to bed and I turned off the lights and the bedroom door swung open and we heard the sound and felt a dog wiggling under our bed like our Golden Retriever use to do. My wife gave me a smile and tears welled up in her eyes I kissed her on her forehead and held her all night long. That was the first sign I notice that our beloved Golden Retriever was still around, it was his way of letting us know he had come to visit. To this day every once in awhile we will hear the cat food dish in the bathroom hit the floor and the cat food all over the floor. All the cats are accounted for right afterwards to rule them out and out new dog is sound asleep when it happens. My wife as had a couple of rough things happen to her this past week of October 7th, 2005 I noticed the dish on the floor again and I heard a dog bark at our back sliding glass door, I thought it was our new dog but he was sound asleep out in my wife’s sewing room with her, I thought that was weird. And last night we were watching a movie and I heard a dog in the kitchen and I hollered out “Max get in here” my wife said “he is asleep right next to me,” she was sitting on the couch. I quickly looked for all the cats all three were sitting on the couch by my wife; I looked at my wife’s son and said you heard that also didn’t you he said yes he did. So Sullivan is around and he is here to comfort even in death letting us know it will be ok. RE: ghost Stories (Non-Fiction)
Woah. I had a similar experience not that long ago with my cat. Long story short, she had a heart attack while staying with her vet and died. We had a 17 month old kid at the time (she's 19 months now), so we had to keep baby gates up at the bottom of the stairs and to the entrance to our office. When Murray (cat) was alive she'd jump the gate and her legs would hit the top of the gate and it made this very specific noise. I had heard it once or twice, at both gates, when it was just me in the house. I told my boyfriend about it and he thought that was 'interesting.' Then about a week later, after I told my BF, we were watching TV and we heard it again. I asked him if he heard that too, and he said yes. I should mention that both gates are in the same room only about 10 feet apart (max!). The only way to get those gates to make that noise is to shake them. We checked and double checked. Very very weird. We had Murray cremated and now she's with us again. I have not heard anything since. I miss her way more than I thought I would, I secretly hope she 'comes back.' Weird, but true. Our friends think we're on crack. Whatever. I know she's in a better place now, so I am ok with it. Now I can think about getting a doggy and maybe some fish yay!
P.S. Murray was pitch black. Freaky? You decide! |
