Ghosts and energy draining
So, we've all heard that ghosts will drain energy from anything around them in order to help themselves manifest in whatever way they want to. This is often the reason given for full batteries suddenly going dead, lights flicking on and off etc.

My question is, if this is the case; why hasn't anyone ever put a huge source of energy out for the taking to see what happens.

Something like a tesla coil, jacobs ladder, or one of those static electric generators that I don't know the name of.

It'd be an interesting experiment, and if ghosts truly can absorb energy from sources, I can't imagine them passing up an opportunity like that. :p

RE: Ghosts and energy draining
I have a jacobs ladder that can be used for testing if you want. I got bored one night and built it out of some odds and ends in house.

Make no mistake there are things that go bump in the night.
I work for the ones that bump back.

I've thought about this a lot too. I was going to purchase a car battery and pack it around with me in a back pack during our investigations because this is essentially the same test...I say lets do it!

RE: Ghosts and energy draining
The battery drain is due to all the pictures being taken all at once. Normal batteries in a camera last for 150-200 pics. If you are using a flash and the rear lcd then you will run out faster.

I dissagree with that...How do you explain the battery life in a video camera going up and down? I remember many times where the battery would be fully charged and with in minutes it would lose 30% of its life, as soon as I left that area the battery life would come back up to normal... My cameras had just died on certain occasions without talking only but a few pictures.

RE: Ghosts and energy draining
well why stop at batteries I say try all kinds of different energy types like maybe some hand warmers for heat maybe something that generates a strong electromagnetic field....

RE: Ghosts and energy draining
do you have any suggestions on any machines or devices that we could use or build for this? I think it's a great theory.

I've got a power probe that is used for tracing out a bad wire you hook it to the wire and it sends a signal out then there is a receiver that you use that recieves the signal and makes sound as you move it along the wire I'm not sure how strong of a field it makes but I think the idea is in the right place

RE: Ghosts and energy draining
I have seen many different types of items drained of power then come back to life after we have an area. We had a writer with us at the old prison in deer lodge mt. and i told him watch your batteries that some times they lose power but will come back to life sometime when we get back into the gift shop. And he came up to me 10 minutes into our investigation and told me his brand new battery had just died, he had only taken 24 pictures, and he then changes them out and the same thing happend. So on a bathroom break   we went back to the gift shop and he tried to turn his camera on and it work again showing full battery life on both of his batteries when just one hour earlier they had died. I also have had it happen to me with my flashlight, motion detectors, and video camera. When we would leave an area they would work just fine. So I disagree with David on this, I have heard many groups even TAPS say that spirits sometimes will drain batteries to manifest into apperitions.

RE: Ghosts and energy draining
Well I think the Jacobs ladder that Ol Scratch says he has. But if my knowledge of them is correct, we'd have to be extremely careful with it. Am I right in saying, touching the rods while it's on can easily kill you?

It would be nice if he could come and operate it sometime, that way we have the person most knowledgeable about the device operating it.

I don't know what else really.
