What time of year is best
I am looking for everyone's opinion,
I want to know is there any data out there that can show what time of year is best for ghost hunting. Is it October through the end of April, or does it even matter? And my second thought is, If a Spirit makes contact with you in a dream and wants your help, but you are unsure if it was real or just a dream. Do you look for other signs such as the same dream for several days, or maybe objects from your dream you keep seeing. And how would you go about contacting the Spirit? RE: What time of year is best
Is there anythings that states rhis, i have always thought it was October- April. I know we have gotten more at the Old Prison, The Univestsity of Montana, and the Daly mansion when it was colder compared to Summer time.

RE: What time of year is best
I have always thought it was Oct-April that there was more spirit activity (having to do with the Autumn equinox and the Dec.22 beginning the Winter Soltice). I think that has to do with Wiccan beliefs but I'm not sure if it originated there. When I lived in the "haunted house" here on Kentucky Ave. there was more activity during that time period then the rest of the year. I have also heard that times of anniversaries i.e. deaths, battles, etc. the spirit will come back.

RE: What time of year is best
Erik, to answer your first question; In my opinion it all has to do with where the investigations are being conducted. Here in Montana our winters pose more of an burden then the winters down in say San Diego. With weather as cold as it gets here, we have to take that into account when investigating and analyzing data. So I personally feel that it all depends on where we are investigating. Spring and summer may be better for outside investigations and fall and winter better for indoor investigations. To answer your second question, I think it was Sigmund Frued that said dreams are your subconscious trying to work out a problem you have. Maybe you need to really examine your dreams and try and find an underlying theme. It could be someone thats alive and you known that is subconsciously reaching out to you.

RE: What time of year is best
I just read an article by Tina Carlson from Shadowlands about the spirits that communicate in dreams. Basically she said that is often an easy way for them to communicate with us. She said to be patient and wait for them to communicate again telling you what they need. If it wasn't a family member while you're waiting you could research the building or area you are in when you got the contact to figure out who it may be. Dreams in which a spirit contacts you she said are very vivid and memorable. If that helps.

RE: What time of year is best
This is true. I have had many visions that have come true about places that I have never been. The dreams are usually dealing with some haunting in a place.

RE: What time of year is best
LOL The only vivid dreams I can still remember were pretty scary for me because I was getting killed. The minute my ex moved out and we started divorce proceedings they went away. Seriously! ! So maybe his negative thoughts were transmitting to me or someone was warning me of his intentions????

RE: What time of year is best
I remember one dream where I was in this little town and this house was haunted. On our way out to do an audio installation at a church in some little town in Illinois, we came to this town and it was the town in my dream. I told the other installer that was with me about the house that I had dreamed about and told him what it looked like, the road next to the house, and the railroad track at the end of the road. About 2 miles down the road we see the house that I mentioned, the road, and the railroad. Needless to say, he was freaked out.
