I don't know why this image keeps coming into my head but that is what I see, I am going to go there this summer and see if i can confirm my vision. And NEVER take anything from a site that could be haunted spirits don't like that.
I wonder if it could be Frank Davey. Have no idea what he looks like but when I was on site garnetghosttown@yahoo.com and clicked on library then to interview of Mary Jane Morin she tells of him living in the hotel and when her mom had sent her to get some eggs from the store and she commented on him dropping 2 eggs and not cleaning them up he was rude to her. So???? In the section you can get a little history about the store. I'll have to check it again and see if there is a pic of this guy.

So you don't think it may be the last owner Frank Davey? Oh...and when I said I like antiques...... I buy them not take them from the site.Icon_biggrin I wouldn't want to mess up the heritage of the place. I just like old things.... always have. I have a couple of old trunks and hats and stuff..... but..... in my wierdness I have found the need to smudge them before bringing them into my house since my experience with some old spectacles and reading about spirits following items.Icon_eek

I don't remember anything happening in the hotel targeted against me when I was there ...... just not being able to take pics in a couple of rooms on the second floor. Hmmmmmmmm I wonder what I did with the picts I did take..... might want to take another look???Icon_rolleyes

RE: Ghost Towns
If you go up the back way from 200 it is a few miles before Garnet. If you see the old cemetary you have gone too far.

RE: Ghost Towns
LOL..... I meant standing as in like Garnet? The Ghost town (can't think of the name right now) that is up by Crystal park has 3-5 buildings you can walk into...... if I remember correctly.Icon_confused Others are in different stages of decay. Some have slid into the nearby stream, some with walls, but no roof, etc. Does Coloma have any intact buildings with walls and roofs or just the foundations?

RE: Ghost Towns
All are almost intact, just that they have fallen on one side or the other and I wouldn't go into the only full standing building as there is only one rotted 2x4 holding it up. The cool hotel and stuff are mostly foundation.

Eric..... I looked on the web site garnetghosttown@yahoo.com and when you get on-click photos-click on yesteryear for what ever it was. There isn't a photo of Mr. Davey that I could see. but if you click on Union Hall there are a bunch of miners and then a photo titles miners there are some from the Nancy Hanks Mine. See if any of them look familiar. Then you'd know if it was a miner or Davey--- just a thoughtIcon_confused
