I love antiques and touring Ghost Towns. Trying to get past the depression of all this cold weather I thought I'd figure out a few trips to take this summer. I found this website that is pretty neat and thought I'd share it with you. http://www.ghosttowngallery.com Once you get to that site click on the interactive map then I clicked on Montana. A bunch of balloon like shapes come up for your choice.
Something interesting to me was I clicked on Garnet and to view pictures. I was there a couple of summers ago around the 4th of July. Chet, myself and a friend were taking pics. In the upstairs of the hotel there were a couple of rooms that I couldn't get my camera to work. I could take a pic in the room before or after but not in that particular room. Can't recall which ones now....but when you view the Garnet pics it is interesting because the wedding room has orbs in the pic. Only pic with anything. For whatever that means |

RE: Ghost Towns
Coloma is up there near Garnet. Not the easiest to find, but it's there I promise.

RE: Ghost Towns
upstairs there is a room that has a spirit that doesnt like people in his hotel and your camera and batteries will not work all the time. This happens day or night.

RE: Ghost Towns
Coloma is now easy to find. There are signs and the last 2 years our field school has cleared a lot of brush up there.

At the time I visited there was a park ranger (not the live on site care takers) and he told me some incidents that he knew of but in my old age I just can't remember them. I do remember that they had to do with all of those 3 buildings but mostly the saloon and the hotel. I am soooooo psyched to go there this year. |

RE: Ghost Towns
Find anything interesting at Coloma? Our class was the first up there to do field work. We had to survey the buildings and the grad students dug up the garbage pit. I think all they found was an old clorox bottle.

Yeah, The clorox bottle was put together. We found some nice things but it was all the same things you find.

RE: Ghost Towns
The spirit could be a former owner, or someone associated with the old hotel. I vision I get is this gentleman is around 5'-7" or 5'-8" tall maybe 230-250 pounds beard and mustashe wearing a dark wool suit. and Has a dislike for women. I don't know why this image keeps coming into my head but that is what I see, I am going to go there this summer and see if i can confirm my vision. And NEVER take anything from a site that could be haunted spirits don't like that.

RE: Ghost Towns
The supposed spirit is one of the miners who worked the mine for a few months. The spirit was said to have stayed on the top floor before his death and yes, he supposedly has a dislike toward women.
